Lloyd’s Lab unveils Cohort 17 following Pitch Day in London
15 September 2026
Lloyd's has today announced the companies selected to join Cohort 17 of the Lloyd's Lab Accelerator, following a competitive Pitch Day that brought together innovators, underwriters, brokers and market experts from across the Lloyd's market.
Fifteen companies pitched for a place on the Accelerator, with 10 companies selected to progress into the ten-week programme, where they will work directly with market participants to develop, test and refine their solutions.
The event opened with remarks from Sir Charles Roxburgh, Chair of Lloyd's, and Rosie Denée, Director of Innovation and Commercial Education at Lloyd's.
This year's cohort was built around three themes that reflect areas of strategic focus for the market:
Operational efficiency in the Lloyd's market: exploring technologies that remove frictional costs, optimise capital allocation, and enable dynamic, disciplined decision-making to help the market do more with less, in a softening environment.
New products for the Lloyd's market: supporting the development of insurance solutions for emerging and evolving risks, including AI infrastructure, data centres, supply chain resilience and autonomous technologies.
Experimental innovation: examining emerging technologies and novel risk-transfer concepts that could shape the future of insurance.
More than 30 market participants contributed to the application review and shortlisting process, helping identify companies with the strongest potential to address market challenges and create new opportunities for growth.
The selected companies will now begin the Accelerator programme, gaining access to Lloyd's market expertise as they work to validate concepts, refine propositions and explore commercial pathways.
"Pitch Day is one of the most important moments in the Lloyd's Lab calendar because it brings the market directly into the selection process. Every company presenting has already demonstrated strong potential, but it is the insight, challenge and expertise of market participants that ultimately determines which solutions move forward.Rosie Denée, Director of Innovation and Commercial Education at Lloyd’s
The companies selected for Cohort 17 now have the opportunity to work directly with brokers, insurers and market experts to test their assumptions, strengthen their propositions and demonstrate where they can create real value for the market. That's how innovation moves from interesting ideas to meaningful impact."
