Key initiatives

Partnership with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to facilitate holistic growth opportunities for Dubai-based Insurtech start-ups and entrepreneurs.

Lloyd’s, on June 13, 2023, announced a partnership with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to facilitate holistic growth opportunities for Dubai-based Insurtech start-ups and entrepreneurs. Lloyds will collaborate with DET based upon its experience of setting up the Lloyd’s Lab and supporting the development of InsurTechs through the accelerator. The future partnership will also give members of the Lloyd’s Lab program access to bespoke business facilitation support to setup in and expand operations throughout Dubai. DIFC and Lloyd’s collaborate to develop future talent in the insurance sector

On 22nd January 2025, the DIFC Academy and Lloyd’s Academy signed an MOU to agree to work together to organise a series of events, educational bootcamps and on-demand learning that support the drive for talent across the insurance industry. DIFC remains an ecosystem that fosters talent in the (re)insurance industry by providing learning and mentorship opportunities collaboration with the Lloyd’s Academy, an industry-leading commercial education platform for risk professionals.
